Sierra Health and Life was established in 1906 in California as a life and health indemnity insurance company. Sierra Health and Life is now licensed in 43 states as well as the District of Columbia.
Sierra Health Services and its subsidiaries, including Health Plan of Nevada, were acquired by UnitedHealth Group in 2008.
