New Health Insurance Carrier in Nevada

The more health insurance options you have, the easier it is to find high-quality coverage that is affordable. Late last year, Friday Health Plans announced that it was expanding to Nevada and would sell policies on Nevada Health Link, the state’s online Marketplace. These plans may be a good fit for you if you are working within a budget and really like the flexibility of seeing a specialist without having to get a referral from a primary doctor.

Friday is offering “EPO” plans, which are exclusive provider organizations, meaning, you can see ANY of their listed providers without having to get a referral, however, you must stay inside their network, unless you have an emergency.

Who Is Friday Health Plans?

Friday Health Plans is built on the philosophy that health coverage should be hassle-free and affordable. The company was founded in 2015 by two experienced health technology professionals. In 2017, Friday Health Plans acquired Colorado Choice Health Plans, which served those in rural Colorado, and eventually expanded its service to offer plans throughout the state. Recently, the company began selling health plans in Nevada, along with New Mexico and Texas.

Who Is Friday Health Plans For?

Friday Health Plans focuses on providing quality coverage for small businesses and those who purchase their own health insurance. This may include gig workers, entrepreneurs, independent contractors, freelancers, service industry workers and small business owners, along with young retirees who do not qualify for Medicaid or Medicare. People in these groups tend to be underinsured because they may have difficulty affording monthly premiums. Friday Health Plans may also be a good option for those who qualify for coverage through their spouse or parent but want to see if they can pay less with a Friday plan rather than the group health insurance plan.
