Don’t Miss Open Enrollment
November 1st, 2023 through January 15th, 2024
RIGHT NOW is the “Open Enrollment” period to begin signing up for your Obamacare health insurance coverage. Understanding the enrollment process, and taking note of the limited enrollment period, is more important than ever for ensuring that you and your family have health insurance coverage next year.
Health Insurance Open Enrollment Explained
It is important to understand what “Open Enrollment” is and when you can take advantage of it. Open Enrollment is a specific time period (November 15th through January 15th each year) to enroll into, make changes to, or cancel the government’s health insurance plan. You will not be able to make changes to your health insurance plan outside of the Open Enrollment period unless you have a “Qualifying Life Event” such as, marriage or having a baby, etc. You can, however, at any time, cancel your individual insurance plan that is not through employer coverage.
It is especially important to know when Open Enrollment is and decide what you want/need when it comes to your health insurance. Speaking with a qualified health insurance agent should be a top priority! You’ll need to understand the benefits of your health insurance plan, your options, and be able to get the most out of your health insurance budget.
If you want a January 1st effective date, the last day to enroll is December 15th. If you enroll after December 15th, you will have to wait till the first of the next month for your insurance to begin. All enrollments end on January 15th
Do You Qualify for a Government Subsidy?
During the enrollment process, you’ll provide some basic information about how many people live in your house, your household income and where you live. This will allow you to see what levels of health insurance you and your dependents qualify for, what health insurance will cost you or even if you qualify for free health insurance or a government subsidy that will minimize how much your health insurance costs.

I Don’t Want a Subsidy
If you DO NOT qualify or do not want a government subsidy, you can buy an ACA qualified health plan which covers pre-existing conditions, that is not tied to Nevada Health Link. We can enroll you into either plan. You’ll need to call for details.
